Wooden hot tub shelter, made to measure

A timber shelter over your hot tub means you can use it all year, dry and out of the wind. We make the frame to measure in oak or Douglas fir with mortise and tenon joints, sized for your tub and the space around it, so a bench, a bar or an outdoor shower fits underneath too.

What to think about

  • Space around the tub: allow at least 1 metre all round for the cover and maintenance.
  • Height: a cover lifter needs headroom. As we make to measure, the height follows.
  • Moisture: warm steam rises. An open side or a roof light that opens helps against condensation. Oil the timber.
  • Base: a filled tub is heavy and sits on its own base, separate from the posts.

Wellness with glass and a bar

Add a glass sliding door on the weather side and a bar, and it becomes a proper wellness corner. By a pool it becomes a pool house.
