Our teak fencing uses horizontal plantation teak slats on 60 x 60 mm azobé posts. It is built exactly like our Ipe fencing: hidden clips, a 5 mm gap and everything in one kit. Teak is lighter in colour, lighter to handle and 10% less than Ipe. Available from November 2026, you can order now.

The teak comes from a plantation in Africa. Almost all teak sold today is plantation grown. Our teak is not certified.
We supply the fence in both timbers, in the same sizes and with the same fixing system.

Choose teak if you want a light, warm colour, you are fitting it yourself and like a lighter board, or price matters. Choose Ipe if you want the hardest, most durable timber or a darker colour, such as our Ipe slatted fence.
One drawback worth knowing: teak is much softer than Ipe, so a knock from a wheelbarrow will dent it more easily.
A 21 mm slat has to stay straight. Timber that moves a lot will warp or cup. Teak moves very little: shrinkage is 4.7% tangential and 2.6% radial. It contains natural oils you can feel on the surface, and the odd dark brown streak is normal for teak.
Teak is naturally durable and needs little care. Outdoors every timber weathers to silver grey over time, teak included. To keep the golden brown colour, oil the slats. Oil works like sun cream on your skin: the timber repels dirt and water and stays more stable, with fewer hairline cracks in very hot or wet weather.
The teak arrives in November 2026. Order now and we will deliver as soon as it is in, and contact you to arrange delivery.
Teak is durability class 1 to 3, depending on origin and the age of the plantation. The slats sit above ground; the posts in the ground are azobé.
Slats of 50 mm, 70 mm and 90 mm, all 21 mm thick. Heights of 1.80, 2.00 or 2.10 m, with slats on one or both sides.
Yes. An EPDM membrane can go behind the slats for privacy and less noise.
Teak is 10% less than the same fence in Ipe. Current prices per metre are on the product pages.
The photos on these pages are visualisations. Photos of installed teak fences will follow once the timber has arrived.
