What the price per metre includes

The price per metre is a complete kit: teak slats, Azobé posts of 60 x 60 mm, black coated stainless steel clips and the screws. You do not buy posts or fixings on top, which makes it easy to compare with panel fencing, where posts, concrete and fittings are often extra.

Running costs over the years

Teak does not need treating; left alone it turns silver grey. To keep the golden colour, allow for oil and an afternoon's work each time. See teak fence care. Teak effect composite looks lower maintenance, but it is not timber. The honest comparison is on teak vs composite fencing.
