What does sawn, planed and fine sawn mean?

Raw or fine sawn wood:

Sawn wood is cut in the base with the machine. The wood may have some splinters after being cut. Sawn or Raw wood are used for garden wood and other outside wood. When it comes to planed wood, the wood has been smoothened mechanically. For example, all of our decking boards are planed, so no splinters.

Planed wood

Apart from sawing wood, this type is also finished by machine planing which makes the surface smooth. An advantage of this type of wood is that there are barely any fibres or unevenness left. We sell planed wood as beams or decking boards. The finish of planed wood is much nicer.
