With our click system, the ends of two boards lock together with tongue and groove. You lay the deck quickly and straight, and a neat double V forms where the boards meet. The boards are usually 120 or 150 cm long, so they are always straight. All sizes and accessories are listed with our hardwood decking boards.

Delivery price on requestOur hardwood decking boards are solid Ipe, 21 x 140 mm, with a tongue and groove joint on the short ends. Where two boards meet, they click into each other, so the joint stays flush and a neat double V forms across the deck. Along the long sides, a groove takes the hidden fixing clip. You get a deck without a single visible screw head.
Prefer to see the full range first? All sizes and accessories are on our Ipe decking page, and the decking calculator works out boards, clips and screws for your exact size.

On most decks, the board ends are cut square and butted against each other on a joist. Over the years those ends move apart or rise slightly, and that is where water stays and edges start to lift. With our end-click joint, the tongue of one board sits in the groove of the next. The ends hold each other level, and you no longer need to plan every joint exactly on top of a joist.
It also saves time when laying. You slide the next board into place, push it home and fix it with the clips. There is no measuring of end gaps and no pre-drilling of screw holes through the face of the board.

Start with a level frame of joists, 40 to 45 cm apart. We recommend Ipe joists as well, so the frame and the boards are the same wood and behave the same way in sun and rain. See decking frame timber for the options.
Fix the first board along the edge. Slide a clip into the groove on the long side, screw it to the joist and place the next board against it. The clip sets the 8 mm gap for you. Where a board runs out, click the next one onto its end and carry on. A typical garden deck goes down noticeably faster than with face screws, and the result looks the same from one end to the other.
Ipe does not need any treatment to reach 25+ years. Left alone, it turns an even silver grey within a few months. We do recommend an oil treatment, though. Think of it as wax on a car or sun cream on your skin: dirt and water run off more easily, and the wood stays more stable, with less chance of fine surface cracks or slight cupping after a very hot or very wet spell.
Ipe is heavy and very hard, so cutting takes a sharp blade and some patience. It also costs more per square metre than softwood or composite boards. What you get back is a deck that does not rot, does not need replacing after ten years and does not show a screw head anywhere.
Yes. Every order of decking boards comes with the black coated stainless steel clips and screws you need for the area you order.
No. Because the ends click together with tongue and groove, they support each other. That gives you more freedom when you plan the layout and less offcut waste.
Ipe is durability class 1 and lasts 25+ years, also without maintenance. Oiling is optional and keeps the colour and surface in better condition.
40 to 45 cm, centre to centre. Ideally use Ipe joists too, so that different wood species do not work against each other.
Delivery to the UK takes 7 to 14 working days.
