Looking for a modern fence in a warm, light wood colour? This fence has horizontal teak slats, 50 mm wide and 21 mm thick. Teak is a yellowish brown and develops a golden sheen over time. The narrow slats create a fine linear pattern that suits a clean, contemporary garden.
It is built exactly like our Ipe slatted fence with 50 mm slats: the same sizes, the same azobé posts and the same fixing system. The difference is the timber and the price. The teak fence costs 10% less than the same fence in Ipe.
Available from November 2026. You can order now and we will deliver as soon as the teak arrives.
A 50 mm slat is narrow and thin. Timber that moves a lot will warp or cup. Teak moves very little: shrinkage is 4.7% tangential and 2.6% radial, compared with 6.4% and 5.1% for Ipe. As it dries, teak shows little tendency to distort or split.
Teak contains natural oils. You can feel it on the surface: smooth and slightly greasy. Now and then a dark brown streak runs through the wood. That is typical of teak.
Our teak comes from a plantation in Africa. Almost all teak sold today is plantation grown.
We supply both, in the same sizes and with the same fixing system.

Choose teak if you want a light, warm colour, if you are fitting it yourself and prefer a lighter timber, or if price matters.
Choose Ipe if you want the hardest and most durable timber (durability class 1, 25+ years) or a darker colour.
Teak is naturally durable and needs little looking after. Outdoors, every timber weathers to a silver grey over time, teak included. To keep the golden brown colour, treat the slats with oil. Oil works like sun cream on your skin: the wood repels dirt and water and stays more stable.
Corners or separate sections? Order the total length and add the split in the comments box in your basket. You can also work out your fence first with the fence calculator.
The teak arrives in November 2026. If you order now, we deliver as soon as it is in. We will contact you to arrange a delivery date.
Yes. Teak stands up well to weather and fungi outdoors. Its durability class is between 1 and 3, depending on origin and the age of the plantation. The slats are kept off the ground and the posts in the ground are azobé.
No. Our teak has no certification. It comes from a plantation in Africa.
Yes. Sizes, posts, clips and screws are the same. Only the slats are teak.
Teak is a different timber: lighter and softer than Ipe. We charge 10% less for the teak fence than for the same fence in Ipe.
The photos are visualisations based on our Ipe fence, which is built the same way. Photos of the teak fence itself will follow once the timber has arrived.

Steel doors are all made to measure, with a delivery time of approximately 8 weeks. Oak or Douglas barns, verandas or shelters are all made to measure, for which the delivery time is approximately 8 weeks. We deliver all products with a large truck. All products are well packed in plastic so that they are weather resistant. Read the warranty terms and conditions before placing your order. It is important to know what you can make with our products and it is equally important what not to do. As a result, you will enjoy your home-made project for longer. We only provide warranty if you have fulfilled all the warranty conditions. Do not use floor boards near a swimming pool that contains chlorine or salt water. Fixing materials are made of stainless steel (clips and screws) the chlorine and salt attack the stainless steel, causing corrosion. There is a greatly increased risk that the mounting clips and screws will corrode and break as a result. As a result, the wood is no longer clamped and will spontaneously start to work and deform. Read the warranty conditions carefully before purchasing. Our dealer in Hartlepool has a showroom where you can see our decking and fencing.
