Teak fence ideas: 8 ways to use teak in your garden

In short: teak is pale, so it suits light paving, white render and green borders. Here are eight ways to use teak fencing or a teak gate in your garden, each with the design that goes with it. Everything is built from 50, 70 or 90 mm teak slats on Azobé posts.

1. Wrapped round the patio

Carry the fence round the corner of the patio so the dining table is sheltered on two sides. With 70 mm slats the lines run calmly round the corner. Teak fence 70 mm.

2. Behind a border

White hydrangeas, grasses or lavender look good against pale teak. The fence becomes a backdrop rather than a wall. Teak fence 50 mm.

3. Along the drive

Wide 90 mm slats give a calm surface over a long run. A pair of gates in the same timber finishes the drive. Double teak garden gate.

4. By the pool

Round a pool you want privacy without feeling hemmed in. Teak fencing with a membrane stops people looking in and softens noise. Teak privacy fencing.

5. Round the kitchen garden

A fence keeps wind off the vegetable beds and gives the greenhouse and raised beds a fixed place. Teak suits the warm tone of timber raised beds. Teak fence 70 mm.

6. With lighting

Uplighters under a teak fence give the slats a warm glow at night. The gaps create a rhythm you hardly notice by day. Teak slatted fencing.

7. A gate to the pool or patio

A gate does not have to face the street. A teak gate between patio and pool divides the garden into rooms. Odd size? Choose a bespoke gate. Bespoke teak garden gate.

8. A freestanding patio screen

No need for a whole fence? A few metres of teak as a screen by the lounge gives shelter and keeps the garden open. Teak garden screen.

Which slat width suits your idea?

Fine lines and a modern house: 50 mm. A calm surface over a long run: 90 mm. If in doubt, 70 mm sits in between. The difference is on teak slatted fencing. Want to hold the timber first? Ask for a free sample.
