Oak garden buildings, made to measure

An oak garden building from us is made entirely to measure: a solid European oak frame with mortise and tenon, half-lap and dovetail joints, finished with the roof and walls you choose. Large and exclusive garden buildings are almost always oak, because oak is heavy, hard, durable (class 2) and ages beautifully. In 9 years we have supplied more than 200 luxury garden buildings. You can see customer projects under projects with photos.

Pool house with a pitched roof, made to measure

What you choose

  • Size: anything from a small summer house to an outbuilding with several rooms.
  • Roof: a flat roof with EPDM or a pitched roof.
  • Walls: timber cladding, sliding glass doors or steel doors.
  • Open bay: a covered terrace alongside, see garden room with veranda.

Oak or Douglas fir

Douglas fir is lighter and more affordable and suits a smaller building. For a large or exclusive building, nearly everyone chooses oak. See oak or Douglas fir.

Good to know

Oak checks as it dries, which is normal. Use stainless screws because of the tannins. Left untreated, oak weathers to silver grey. See treating oak outdoors.
