Pitched roof timber veranda

A pitched roof veranda has two sloping roof planes meeting at a ridge. That gives headroom and the classic look of a barn. We make it to measure in oak or Douglas fir, on trusses joined with mortise and tenon, half-lap and dovetail joints.

Pitched roof models

The models are a starting point. We make the size, roof pitch and layout to suit you.

Roof covering

A pitched roof can take tiles, thatch or timber boarding with another finish. See a customer's oak gazebo with a thatched roof.

Pitched or flat

A pitched roof gives more height and a country feel. A flat roof is lower and cleaner, see flat roof veranda.

Frequently asked questions

What roof pitch?

You choose, within what suits the covering. Tiles and thatch need a steeper pitch.

Is a pitched roof more expensive?

Usually, as it takes more timber and roof area. See prices and costs.
