Steel door price: how to measure up and calculate your door

In short: in our steel door calculator you enter the width and height of the opening in centimetres. Then choose the model, door height and width, opening direction, lock, glazing bars, handle and coating. The price and a scale drawing of your door update as you go, and lead time is about 8 weeks.

Measure first

The price of a steel door depends mostly on its size. Measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom and enter the smallest figure. For a sliding door, also enter the free space to the left, right and above the opening, because the door needs room to slide. A door is at least 90 cm wide, with a clear opening of at least 80 cm.

The steps

  1. Sizes. Width and height of the opening, and for sliding doors the space beside and above it.
  2. Model. Pivot door with soft close, rotating pivot door, sliding door on a track or on rollers, hinged door or steel window. The calculator only shows what suits your size.
  3. Layout. Single or double, a full height door or a lower door with a fanlight above.
  4. Position and swing. Where the door sits in the opening, hinge side, opening inwards or outwards, with or without a lock.
  5. Glazing bars. Horizontal and vertical bars as you like, always with 6 mm safety glass.
  6. Handle and finish. Small handle included or an extra long handle, clear coat or fine textured black.

What changes the price

  • Size: a taller or wider opening means more steel and more glass.
  • Model: a pivot door with soft close hardware costs more than a hinged door of the same size, and a fanlight adds glass and a frame.
  • Glazing bars: every extra bar adds steel and welding.
  • Handle and coating: small handle included, extra long handle at extra cost.

Which size do I enter?

The smallest measurement of the opening. Walls and floors are rarely perfectly straight.

What if my size does not fit the calculator?

If your model is not shown, the size is outside the standard range. Send us your measurements on WhatsApp and we will price it for you.

Can a pivot door go on underfloor heating?

The floor pivot plugs are 4 cm long and can be shortened to 2 cm. We supply the extra adhesive free of charge.
