Modern decking boards in Ipe

A modern deck has clean, unbroken lines and nothing to distract from them. Our Ipe decking boards are fixed with hidden clips, so there are no screw heads on the surface, and the end joints click together for a neat finish.

Why these boards suit a modern design

The even 8 mm gap and the hidden clips give a calm, regular surface. The ends have a tongue and groove, so the boards click together lengthways, and each end joint has a bevelled edge that forms a neat double V. Short lengths of 120 and 150 cm are always straight, which keeps every line true.

Frequently asked questions

What gap do modern decking boards need?

8 mm. The clips set it for you, so every gap is the same.

Do modern decking boards need oiling?

Not to last: Ipe lasts 25+ years untreated. Oil keeps the colour and makes the surface more stable, see oil for hardwood decks.
