A steel gate frame, complete with black staves, black hooks, black cylinder lock and black door fitting. Enough hardwood lamellae in 2.1 x 9.0 cm in length 2.10 m1 to cover the gate frame itself on 2 sides. By sawing the lamellae shorter you can determine the total height of the gate. The steel frame is 1.85 m1 high, so this is the minimum height of the gate. The slats are 2.10 m1 long, so this is also the maximum height of the gate. We supply enough clips and screws to mount the slats invisibly. Choose the desired width of your gate. Available in the sizes 1.00 - 1.20 and 1.50 m1 wide.

Do not forget to oil? Per 2.3 litres of ipe fence oil, you can completely oil a gate 4 times. Repeat this process twice a year. This keeps the modern gate beautiful in the original wood colour, and the wood does not absorb any dirt or water. You also extend the life span. If you do not oil the gate, it will gradually become mouse-grey after approximately 6 months. Once the wood has turned grey it cannot be restored to its original colour.

Metal door frames
Our metal gate frames are much thicker and more elegant than the standard gate frames, as much as 3 cm thick and 1.85 m1 high. This means that we no longer need an optically disruptive steel cross in the frame. Always coated in matt black so they do not rust. Available in widths of 1.00 m1 - 1.20 m1 or 1.50 m1. The height of the metal frames is always 1.85 m1, and you always receive slats in the length of 2.10 m1. So you are flexible whether you leave the height of the gate at 2.10 m1 or make it lower. The lock case is concealed in the steel frame, this gate is much stronger and therefore less susceptible to burglary. The gate is always hung with 3 suspension points, again made of thick steel, these do not bend. The black staves and hooks are easy to adjust by turning the nuts in or out. Our gates do not work, so hang them up once and they are ready for use. 

Wood for attaching to the gate frame
You mount the slats by sliding the mounting clips into the groove, screwing on 3 horizontal slats that are placed in the frame. By using the mounting clips, the gate is invisible screwed. Only the 2 boards which are mounted on both sides of the frame are screwed to one side invisibly. The mounting clip is also the spacer between the planks.

First you saw the 3 horizontal brackets to length and put them in the black metal frame. Then you place the first slat over the holes of the lock box. Mark and drill the holes of the lock case. Fix the 2nd slat with the clips, and place the clips between the 1st slat and the 2nd slat, then screw the clips onto the 3 horizontal slats. Repeat this process until you have mounted all the slats. Turn the frame over and mark and drill out the lock case slat again. The 2 slats that have holes in the lock box should be screwed to each other from one side with the 3 supplied screws. With 1 long screw, you screw through the batten, then through the metal frame (pre-drill) and again in the batten. In this way you mount the 2 'lock-case slats' opposite each other, and on both sides of the frame. The other slats are screwed invisibly with the mounting clips. We recommend you to watch the video carefully, so you know exactly how to build a gate.

Processing
There is 5 mm space between the planks, the mounting clip is also the distance keeper between the slats. We supply enough hardwood slats to cover the gate frame on 2 sides. Ipe hardwood slats with the dimension 2.1 x 9.0 cm. You will saw the hardwood slats to length yourself, so you can determine how high the gate will be and what looks best in your garden.

The modern gate is heavy in weight and quality. It can be mounted directly on a wall, or use a hardwood pole to mount the gate on. The minimum thickness for a garden gate is a hardwood pole of 9.0 x 9.0 cm. We have these in stock. A post must be buried in the ground at least 1/3 of its length. Little experience is required to assemble a gate.
