IPE decking wood, also known as terrace wood, is considered the best choice for decking. This is because there is no better hardwood than Ipe, which has a long lifespan of 25 years or more. Our Ipe decking wood is sold per square meter, and you can choose your desired length and the number of square meters you need. We will deliver enough decking boards, along with free self-spacing connector clips and screws, to complete your project. Thanks to the tongue and groove at the ends of each board, you don't have to end up exactly on a lower beam. The tongue and groove is strong enough to prevent bending, and installation is as easy as laying laminate. Simply saw the last plank in a row to length, and if it has a minimum length of 45 cm, you can start the next row with it.

Processing and wood click system
Each board of our Ipe decking wood is easy to lay lengthwise, and every floorboard has a tongue or groove at the end, known as the wood click system. This allows each board to click easily into the next one, making installation straightforward even for those with little experience. This system is comparable to laying laminate, and the tongue and groove is strong enough to prevent bending between the lower beams. During assembly, there are always leftover pieces, the sawn-off parts. If they have a minimum length of 45 cm and can be fastened to at least 2 lower beams, they can be used. We supply enough wood to cover the ordered square meters. The best result is wild-cornered installation, as shown in the photos.

Do not forget to clamp the boards at the end to prevent the natural deformation of the floorboards. If the boards can move, especially lengthwise, there is always the risk that the click system will be torn apart. You can prevent this by screwing several screws obliquely into the groove at the end or by fitting an edging around the decking. Of course, you can also use a concrete edge or wall as an edging.

They are mounted under the surface of the decking on the sub-structure, so no screws are visible. The clips are also the spacers between the boards, creating a spacing of approximately 5 mm. This self-spacing connector clip provides great mounting convenience, and by using these mounting clips, a lot of time is saved, and Ipe decking is installed quicker and easier.

In case of traditional decking boards without a recess for a mounting clip, screws are screwed directly through the board, and a countersink has to be drilled. This way, the head of the screw is visible on the surface of the floorboard. By using our mounting clips, no screws are visible. The clips and screws are made of stainless steel metal and black coated, ensuring that they will not rust or oxidize with the hardwood, resulting in an even more beautiful end result.

The laying of the decking boards is best done in so-called wild correlation mounting. See the photos for a good illustration of the end result. We recommend always ordering approximately 10% more wood, as there is always some sawing loss.

Hardwood foundation + foundation piles
In order to install a hardwood decking, hardwood support beams and, if necessary, foundation piles are required for a good foundation under the decking. We recommend spacing the lower beams at 45 cm. The foundation piles are screwed to the lower beams. We recommend using 3 hardwood foundation piles for every square metre of decking. The foundation posts ensure that the entire decking does not subside.
