STEP-BY-STEP PLAN: INSTALLING A FENCE
Do you have all the materials and tools to install the fence? Then follow this step-by-step plan to easily install the fence in your backyard.
STEP 1: MEASURE
Start by measuring where the fence posts and planks are to be placed. For an exact result it is recommended to use a surveyor, but a simple tape measure will also work.
STEP 2: PLACE THE FIRST FENCE POST
Then start placing the first fence post. Always place a post against the wall first. First make sure the wall is level.
Then pre-drill two holes in the wall and the fence post (at the same height). Secure the first fence post with a plug and screw the post to the wall.
STEP 3: DETERMINE THE FENCE LINE
Now stretch a rope to the end point (or to the end point on a corner). When you place the fence posts tightly against the rope, you can be sure that the fence will be placed straight.
STEP 4: DRILL OR DIG HOLES
With a drill you can now drill the holes for the next fence posts. Measure this precisely so the fence boards or garden fences fit exactly between them. The hole should be deep enough, so that about 1/3 of the fence post is in the ground.
STEP 5: PLACE THE NEXT POST + FENCE PLANKS
Then put the posts in the ground and fill the hole completely with quick-mix concrete. Then you can install the fence screen between the posts. Depending on the type of fence you have ordered, the mounting of the fence to the posts is different. It is possible that you use a clip system, but it is also possible that you have to screw the fence boards.
